He had a lot of trouble with his ex Arsenal teammates, there are at least 2 people who does not speak to him, period. He does have a big personality, this means he is influential for both good and bad things. I think now Spurs is lucky to have him and he become ever so value to his currently team, there was not another London club that could had provided the same platform for Gallas at the time,
